Inspired by a trip to India, my Mahout print draws on the remarkably chaotic, but beautifully colourful transport in Jaipur. There is decorative pattern everywhere, on lorries, walls and of course the fabrics, all so evocative of faraway places. I wanted to create a similar artisan crafted quality to the traditional Indian block printing, so hand carved the motifs from lino blocks. I have this fabric as curtains in my studio and it creates a lovely light and delicate feel which is very easy on the eye.
